To rotate an image, add it to the box above and select Rotate Left or Rotate Right. Each click turns it 90 degrees, so two clicks turn it upside down. Use Flip Horizontal to mirror it. How to rotate an image
- Add your images. Drag photos onto the drop area or select Select Files. You can load up to 500 images.
- Rotate or flip. Select Rotate Left or Rotate Right to turn by 90 degrees, or Flip Horizontal and Flip Vertical to mirror. The toolbar buttons apply to every image you've loaded, and each image card has its own rotate and flip buttons.
- Undo if needed. Select Reset All to return every image to its original orientation and start again.
- Download. Select Download All (ZIP) to save the rotated images in one file, or Download on a single card, then Clear to empty the list. Each file keeps its format: a JPG stays a JPG and a PNG stays a PNG.
Rotate vs flip: what each button does
Rotating turns the whole picture around its center. Flipping mirrors it across a line. The difference shows on anything with text: a rotated sign still reads correctly once you tilt your head, while a flipped sign reads backwards.

A 90-degree turn swaps the width and height, which is why a landscape photo comes out portrait. Flip Horizontal followed by Flip Vertical gives the same result as rotating 180 degrees.
Why photos show up sideways in some apps
Phones and cameras often save the pixels in the sensor's direction and add an EXIF Orientation tag that says "display this turned 90 degrees". Your phone's gallery reads the tag, so the photo looks fine there. Some websites, older programs and email clients ignore it, and the same photo appears on its side.

How to flip or mirror an image online
Use Flip Horizontal to make a mirror image online in one click. It's the fix for a selfie where the text on your shirt reads backwards, or for a photo taken of a mirror. Designers also flip a photo so the subject faces into the page instead of off its edge.
Be careful with anything that has to stay accurate: logos, street signs, documents and product photos all read backwards once mirrored. For scans that came out upside down, rotate twice instead of flipping vertically, because a vertical flip also mirrors the text. If you also need to trim the edges after rotating, use the crop image tool.

Windows 10 and 11
In File Explorer, select one or more images and right-click, then choose Rotate right or Rotate left (on Windows 11 they may sit under Show more options). In the Photos app, press Ctrl+R to turn the open photo 90 degrees clockwise.
Mac
Open the image in Preview and use Tools › Rotate Left (Command+L) or Tools › Rotate Right (Command+R). The same menu has Flip Horizontal and Flip Vertical.
iPhone
Open the photo in Photos, tap Edit, then Crop. The buttons at the top let you flip the photo or rotate it 90 degrees to the left with each tap. Tap Done to save. Photos keeps the original, so you can revert later.
