To crop an image, add it above, pick a ratio in the Aspect menu and select Edit on its card. Drag and zoom the photo inside the crop box, then select Apply Crop and Download. To crop many images the same way, choose a ratio and select Crop All, which centers the crop on each photo. Everything runs in your browser.
How to crop an image
- Add your images. Drop JPG, PNG, WebP or SVG files onto the drop area, or select Select Files.
- Choose a ratio and shape. Pick a preset in Aspect, such as 1 : 1 or 4 : 5, and an Overlay shape if you want one. Original (no crop) keeps the full frame.

How to crop an image into a circle
Round profile pictures are used on most social networks and chat apps, and a circle crop lets you check the framing before you upload. In this image cropper:
- Set Aspect to 1 : 1 Square / Profile. The circle is as wide as the shorter side of the crop, so a square crop gives a full circle with no empty strips.
- Set Overlay to Circle.
- Set Output to PNG so the corners outside the circle are transparent.
- Select Edit, center the face, then Apply Crop and Download.
If you choose JPG instead, the corners are filled with the JPG BG color (white by default), since JPG can't store transparency. The same steps work for the other shapes: Rounded Corners, Diamond, Triangle, Heart, Star, Hexagon, Pentagon and three blob shapes.

Cropping sets the shape, not the pixel size. To hit an exact size like 1080 x 1350, crop to the ratio here and then scale the result with the image resizer.
Crop photos online in a batch or one by one
Crop All is the fast option. It takes the ratio from the Aspect menu and cuts the largest possible area from the middle of each photo. That works well for product shots and portraits where the subject is centered.
When the subject sits off to one side, open that image with Edit first. The crop you apply there, including any 90-degree rotation, is remembered, so a later Crop All or ZIP Download uses your manual crop for that image and the automatic center crop for the rest. Inside the editor you'll also find Free for an unconstrained box and Custom ratio for any width-to-height pair, such as 5 : 7.
Does cropping a photo reduce its quality?
Cropping only removes pixels from the edges, so the part you keep has exactly the same detail as before. What can change quality is the save step. With Output set to Same, a JPG is saved as a JPG at the Quality setting (90% by default), which adds a small amount of compression. Choose PNG if you want no further loss.
A heavy crop does leave fewer pixels, though. Cropping a 4000 x 3000 photo down to a 1000 x 1000 square and then enlarging it for print will look soft. If a picture also needs straightening by 90 degrees or mirroring, the rotate image tool handles that.
