To merge PDF files, drop all the PDFs into the box above, drag the cards into the order you want, and select Merge PDFs. The combined file downloads straight away. Each card has its own Page Range box, so you can keep only some pages from a file. Everything happens in your browser, so the files aren't uploaded.
How to merge PDF files
- Add your PDFs. Drag the files onto the drop area or select Select PDF Files. Each one gets a card showing its first page, file size and page count. Add more PDFs brings in more later.
- Set the order. Drag the cards, use Move Up and Move Down, or pick an option in Quick Sort such as Name A → Z.
- Choose pages (optional). All pages are included by default. Type a range like
1-3,5in a card's Page Range box, or choose First Page, Odd Pages and so on from its Quick Action menu. - Merge and download. Select Merge PDFs. The panel shows the final page count and file size, and Download merged PDF again saves another copy.
How to combine PDF files into one in the right order
The merged PDF follows the cards from top to bottom, and the number on each card is its position. A few ways to get the order right quickly:
- Numbered files such as 01-cover.pdf and 02-report.pdf: choose Name A → Z in Quick Sort, or select Normalize File Order.
- A long list: type part of a file name in Search Files to show only matching cards, then drag them or use Move Up or Move Down. Files hidden by the search keep their places.
- The same file twice: select Duplicate on its card. You can then give each copy a different page range, for example pages 1-2 of a contract before an appendix and pages 3-10 after it.
You can merge up to 200 files or 2 GB in one go. To shuffle individual pages rather than whole files, merge first and then rearrange them with Organize PDF.
Merge selected pages and fix sideways scans
Each card has its own settings, so every file can contribute different pages:

If a range doesn't match any page in that file, the tool stops and names the file when you select Merge PDFs. To apply one setting to every file, pick it in Quick Page Preset and select Apply Preset To All.
The Rotate menu on a card turns that file's pages a further 90, 180 or 270 degrees on top of any rotation they already have, which fixes scans that came out sideways. Default Rotation with Apply Rotation To All does the same for every file.
What's kept when you merge PDFs
Pages are copied into the new file as they are, with the pdf-lib library. Text stays selectable and searchable, and images keep their original quality because nothing is re-compressed.
Bookmarks from the original files (the outline panel in a PDF reader) aren't carried over, and fillable form fields may stop working, so check forms after merging. Password-protected PDFs, and PDFs with editing restrictions, can't be merged, and the tool tells you which file is the problem. If you know the password, remove the PDF password first. If the merged file is too large to email, shrink it with Compress PDF.
How to merge PDF files on a Mac or Windows PC
On a Mac, Preview can combine PDFs. Open the PDFs, choose View › Thumbnails in each, and drag page thumbnails from one sidebar into the other. To add a whole PDF, drag its icon from Finder into the sidebar. Preview saves changes automatically, so Apple suggests making a copy with File › Duplicate first.
Windows doesn't include a built-in tool for merging PDFs. The merger on this page works in Edge, Chrome and Firefox on Windows, and in Safari on Mac and iPhone, with no install.
