Use this tool for sample app data, design mockups, placeholder content, profile seeds, social captions, and demo text blocks. Everything runs in the browser.
  • Names are great for tables, forms, and account demos.
  • Phrases work nicely for badges, cards, buttons, and hero text.
  • Sentences and paragraphs help test spacing and real UI density.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you type, paste or open here is uploaded.

To generate random sentences, leave Generator Type on Random sentences, set How Many (up to 100), pick a Tone and Length, and select Generate Text. Each sentence is built from word lists and templates, so every batch is different. Select Shuffle Again for a fresh set, then Copy Output or Download TXT.

How to use the random sentence generator

  1. Pick what to generate. Choose a Generator Type, or tap a Quick preset such as Sentences, Random Names or Hashtags to load sensible settings and generate straight away.
  2. Set amount and style. Enter How Many (1 to 100), then choose a Tone (Neutral, Professional, Creative, Fun or Modern) and a Length (Short, Medium or Long).
  3. Choose the format. Under Output Format, pick One item per line, Comma separated, Pipe separated or Numbered list.
  4. Generate and save. Select Generate Text or press Ctrl+Enter. Use Copy Output or Download TXT to keep the results.

How the random sentences are built

This sentence generator fills fixed sentence patterns with words picked at random from built-in lists of openers, adjectives, nouns, verbs and endings. A medium sentence follows the pattern opener, a adjective noun verb better ideas and keeps your workflow tone-word ending, which produces lines like: Today, a bold pixel builds better ideas and keeps your workflow clean with confidence.

The results are grammatical and readable but don't carry real meaning, which is what you want for test content: nothing in them can be mistaken for real copy. Because the vocabulary leans toward product and workflow words, they look natural in app screens, cards and landing-page mockups.

Random text generator for test data

Besides sentences, the random text generator makes five other kinds of sample data:

  • Random phrases: two- to seven-word taglines and labels for buttons, badges and hero text.
  • Random paragraphs: blocks of 3, 5 or 7 sentences to test spacing and text wrapping.
  • Random names: first and last name pairs from a built-in list of mostly South Asian names, useful for tables and profile screens.
  • Random usernames: handles like a joined pair of short words, sometimes with an underscore, dot or number.
  • Random hashtags: one- or two-word tags such as #designGrowth, ready for social post previews.

Allow numbers adds digits to usernames, hashtags and some names, which helps when you need values that look like real sign-ups. Comma separated output pastes neatly into a spreadsheet cell or a seed script, and Numbered list is handy for documents.

Random sentence generator for funny or nonsense lines

Set Tone to Fun or Creative and tick Add occasional emoji for lighter, slightly absurd lines, since random pairings such as a cosmic garden or an electric orbit often land somewhere between odd and funny. About one in four sentences or phrases gets an emoji when the option is on. The generator doesn't write jokes or wordplay, though. For actual jokes, try the random joke generator.

There's no single-word mode. For random words, set Generator Type to Random phrases with Length Short, which gives two-word combinations you can split, or use the classic word pool in the lorem ipsum generator with the Words output type.

Sentence generator vs lorem ipsum

Lorem ipsum is the better choice when you want text nobody tries to read, such as a print layout or a design review. English sentences are better when you need to judge real reading behaviour: line length, how a sentence wraps on a phone, or whether a button label fits. They also show up typos in your layout, such as missing apostrophes or broken capitalization, that Latin filler hides. To check that your generated copy fits a field, paste it into the character counter.

Frequently asked questions

How many sentences can I generate at once?

Up to 100 per batch. Set How Many and select Generate Text, or Shuffle Again for a new batch with the same settings.

Are the generated sentences unique?

With Prefer unique results ticked (the default), the tool skips exact duplicates within a batch. Different batches can repeat the same sentence.

Can I use the generated text commercially?

Yes. The sentences are made on the fly from simple word lists, so you can use them anywhere, including client mockups and product screenshots.

Are the random names real people?

They're random pairings of common first names and surnames, not records of real people. Any match with a real person is a coincidence.

What is the Idea / Notes box for?

It's a scratchpad for your own notes. It doesn't change what's generated. Output → Notes copies the results into it so you can edit them.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. The generator runs in your browser and works offline once the page has loaded.
